There seems to be somewhat of an explosion in auto-immune deceases of various sorts where the immune system gets fired up by some agent or another to an extent where it attacks and destroys healthy parts of the body...
there is obviously a case for enhancing the immune system response in some cases, but it does seem that any "enhancement" could get out of control unless suitable moderators are also ready to be applied...
