    P you should back off because the initial basis of your attack has been negated , even by you . As for the relevance of moggs statistical intent , there is none because it is not about the presence of turbulence , it’s about the severity of that event , which was highly unusual . Can you not see the reality of the difference ? I quoted a well known Qantas captain who has flown those same routes for 40 years and has never known turbulence as severe as that event . There are 20 or so people still in hospital, one fellow is dead , and the interior of the plane was partially demolished , it was due to a rising of warm air at 37,000 feet in clear air . That’s very unusual to be that severe . That’s has zero relevance to numbers of planes in the sky particularly when that route is so popularly flown . This interaction is churning over nothing new
