today another aircraft had a sudden onset "severe" turbulence. 1 killed several injured many severely shaken with some leaving the plane after landing in Bangkok.

so I did a search and found many news, airline orgs, scientists etc wiring reports on the increasing incidence (55%) of severe grade turbulence over the last 50 years.
a scientist modelling turbulence determined the increase is ipso facto due to warming atmospheric conditions. the logic underpinning is well documented and easily tested in a simple experiment. heat some water in a pot, preferably with glass sides. put in. a few drops of food colouring if you like and watch as the water warms. you see the movement of the water increases the warmer it gets. increased movement causes increased turbulence.
this means not only more storms (documented) but more severe storms, more severe storms is the result of turbulence.
they say that planes are built to withstand any stresses that turbulence might cause and that a fall doesn't ever end in a crash because lower layers of air have different currents.
might give one pause the think when booking that next flight.
