    Hi there Catgut. Some points

    1. The RAAF aircraft are perfectly safe so long as they keep their transponders on the correct frequency.

2.As posted there are several Turkish militias operating in the area concerned. It is indeed a Turkmen area BUT the militias are controlled and armed directly by the Turkish intelligence services (MIT) . Many of the fighters in these militias are ex Turkish military.

    3. You are wrong with respect to the US. The US along with the EU were (reluctantly) accepting the presence of Assad pending an agreed transition arrangement. The US and the EU do not want the Sunni Arabs to overrun the Alawites thus the focus on ISIS. Obama wanted Russia to focus on ISIS ..... and by implication is accepting current lines of control by the Regime and its allies. ERDOGAN DOES NOT LIKE THIS. ERDOGAN DOES NOT WANT TO SEE FRANCE OR THE US SIDING WITH RUSSIA.

    4. Erdogan has basically admitted that the decision to fire on the Sukhoi was largely influenced by the RuAF attacks on the Turkish supported militias.

There are no good guys in this space. None. But what I suspect Puttin may actually do (while using flashy warships as a distraction) is quietly bolster the SDF alliance in and around Afrin and then use facilitate a spearhead by aligned Arab fighters (with YPG back up) into the Turkish so called buffer zone. He would like to see the Kurds control the whole Turkish border.

What else? As per some of the "Sputnik" posts on the steady process of dumping all of the FSB's information relating to Erdogan and his family appears to have started. Previous ISIS links and Al Qaeda links with Turkish Intelligence along with Erdogan's personal links will be exposed for all to see. But what is really scary is seeing forms of words I have used previously on these and other threads appearing elsewhere.

    cheers
