You can hardly blame the Turks with Putin threatening everyone in this part of the world with his nuclear weapons.
I would hope that all countries who find Russian bombers in their airspace would also shoot them down and ask questions later. Russia has a recent history of unprovoked attacks and invasions of countries it doesn't like.
The Turkish President is not a weak willed nobody like the European and American leadership, and has warned Russia repeatedly to stop overflying Turkish territory. The Russians ignored these requests and so Turkey shot down the Russian plane when it invaded Turkish airspace as they warned they would
Putin clams that Turkey knew that the Russian bomber posed no threat but how does anyone know this with Russia's recent wars and ongoing threats the latest being to threaten Montenegro if it chooses to accelerate integration with NATO. The reason that so many countries want to join NATO is because Russia keeps threatening them, invading them and killing their citizens.
So no, I don't believe the Turks thought the fully armed Russian bomber in their airspace meant them no harm and I would hope that Turkey will continue to shoot down any Russian bombers that invade Turkey's airspace.
You warn an approaching bomber that they are approaching Turkish airspace, they maintian radio silence and invade your airspace - immediate shoot down situation. Russia would do exactly the same if any other country did that to Russia's airspace.
In all of this you can rely on ZeroHedge to make stuff up and tell a pack of lies.
