All good, but need to correct you on one critical point there.

"How does this clown think he can get away with invading some one else's country and destroying Syria's ally, the Kurds ?"

Firstly, the Kurds are made up of some distinct groups themselves, but separately, they are not allies of the Syrian Government. The US are backing the Kurds.

The Kurds are a large group of 20-30 million people that is spread over Turkey, Iraq, Syria & Iran. They unofficially control disparate regions within each, but there is no official Kurdish state. That is the big problem - none of the above 4 countries (obviously) want to give up land to allow the Kurds their own state. Such a state somewhere in the middle (an intersection) of the above countries would be very strategic - especially because the Kurdish muslims (the majority of Kurds are muslims) are relatively moderate - their more commonsense approach to living flies in the face of how things work in those 4 countries. A Kurdish state has the potential to be a relatively democratic one - this would prove a major physical and political barrier to the kind of Islamic expansion that most of the Islamic (both Sunni & Shia) powerhouses in the region (Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia) are craving.

Back to the Kurds and the Syrian government, see below:
