I wonder whether anyone can point to a time when an ex-politicians appointment to a companies board actually did any good for the company or its shareholders..?
These people have generally been rejected by their parties and/or the electorate, they are usually self-serving, self aggrandizing, mean spirited busybodies with an exaggerated sense of their own importance. Skilled at back-stabbing, lying, dissembling and in blocking progress or meaningful reform, I can't see how a modern, progressive and innovative company would want anything to do with any of them for any reason whatsoever...
