Surely Malcolm did not ring the Greens!
No Coalition deal: Greens
The federal government’s record on climate change and asylum-seekers makes it inconceivable the Greens could form any co-operative with the Coalition, the minor party’s leader says.
Richard Di Natale said a multiparty government is still a live option with the election too close to call, and his party might need to have talks with Labor in coming days.
“We may need to sit down and have constructive negotiations with the Labor Party to look at what a multiparty government arrangement looks like,” the senator told reporters in Melbourne. He ruled out a deal with the Turnbull government due to its treatment of innocent people seeking asylum and the coalition’s position on climate change and the growing gap between the rich and ordinary people.
“It has an appalling record on all those things, and it is inconceivable we could sit down and form any sort of co-operative government with the coalition,” he said.
