The excitement that a few polls give the Abbott haters can only be matched by the bolshkis drawing neck and neck with Abbott and edging ahead when Rudd was reinstated.
Remember that. The gamechanger that was all of Abbott's worst nightmares. They were having wet dreams while they were awake
That was the high point for Rudd.
It seems to me that Abbott will eventually turn it all around again . They've thrown everything bar the kitchen sink at him ,they're howling like wild banshees every day ,but like a sprinter in the Melbourne cup they've taken off about 1600m too soon.
I get the sense that things will kick in for Abbott ,gradually ,over this next stanza.
In politics its savage when it turns ,any of those who actually listened to what Turnbull had to say tonight couldn't help but be impressed by the sense of purpose.
Let's reconvene in a few months and see where public opinion lies ,the blowhards have been screaming the same tune ever since Abbott was elected leader and they've got it wrong every time
