Well, that gave her well over a year until the election to initiate her enquiry, and was during the time that children were flooding into the detention centres under Labor.
She has belatedly managed to 'remember' that - contrary to her original statement that she had never had any discussion re an enquiry with any Labor Minister - she did in fact have such discussions with both Mr Bowen and Mr Burke.
One must assume that they agreed it would be unnecessary to get the enquiry under way until well after the election.
Goodness me! Why would that be? It was in fact begun around six months after the Coalition took office.
