I'm no fan of Turnbull but this seems to be a genuine attempt to address all 3 issues in one policy: price, reliability, CO2 emissions. It is the first to do this in Australia and perhaps the world. Props to him and the people who worked on it.
They are also dumping the subsidies and being agnostic to the source of power. That positions coal and gas as complimentary to intermittent renewables - not the "dirty emitters" narrative of Labor / Greens
Even if parties disagree with the level of CO2 cuts, it seems a decent framework that all parties should adopt.
