LOL Hairy, I recall seeing photo's and a video clip of Abbott at Manly wharf handing out pamphlets before the last election and people where avoiding him.
Maybe they do like Abbott as a person but a poll in his electrate after he was dumped showed the majority wanted him to quit politics.
Also Warringah is a safe liberal seat but Abbott himself raised concerns about holding that seat and the liberal party had to step in with a campaign to remind voters to vote Liberal. In essence, Abbott only hold that seat because he is in the liberal party.
How do you think Abbott would go if he stood as an independent? Think he would be lucky to get a handful of votes LOL
