Mower159; I also think that most Australians will judge Malcolm Turnbull by what he does in the 2016 Budget.

Sadly for Turnbull though; he's had a loose-lipped, ideologue as Treasurer and who loves to bash Aussie Battlers shooting from the lip about increasing the GST by 50% and slashing spending [eg. public education] - except for corporate tax cuts that is. His self-serving former leader has added to Turnbull's woes by shooting his mouth off in whichever forums will host his outbursts.

IMO that's forced Turnbull right up the proverbial creek with Scott Morrison as his Rudder and without a paddle!

Consequently Bill Shorten's declaration of going after corporate tax avoiders, reigning in the excesses of negative gearing and CGT, slashing superannuation concessions for uber-wealthy people who don't even need superannuation and sorting out the big players in our finance sector and resurrecting the ETS is resonating with voters.
