Abbott is a man of dignity and substance, qualities that you lefties would not recognise even if you tripped over them.
To keep a man of Turnbull's quality in the liberal party is a testament to it's ability to draw and encourage diverse views.
While Abbott may not be the show pony that Hawke was or the froth and bubble of Rudd he has strength that will resonate. Like Howard he will have to work hard to curry favour with Australians and, despite the ravings of the lunatic left, we will be seeing this play out - not a moment too soon.
