Have any of these drought advisers actually encountered drought as a farmer, of which this country has suffered many over the last one hundred years.
Do they know that a drought is not an event unheard of in Australia?
And have any of them read Judith MacKellar's Clancy of the Overflow where she writes about 'Floods and sweeping plains'
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!
