Back then pretty much every Labor pollie was against SSM, and that include Penny Wong. But also back then most of Labor believed marriage was nothing more than "institutionalised rape".
Pass the bloody bill. Who cares. Its not like many will actually get married, and we can still laugh about homosexuals even if it is illegal.
