In the last 250 years the US has been almost continually at war somewhere in the world.

This has developed a seige mentality.

To create a nation based on revolution is one thing but then to slaughter your own in a civil war is horrific.

I have heard priests say Australia was born as a penal colony and so we are sick!

Not so sick as a nation born by slaughter.

I don't dismiss the intentions of many that "serve", but "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".

The US has developed the idea that others are envious of them and so wish to destroy them.

The fact is others are sick of being bullied and like the proverbial worm, are turning.

The US Formers of their Constitution recognised the dangers of military adventurism and suggested they avoid being involved in foreign conflicts.

    Sadly today, that is ignored.

So the more they interfere the more they need to defend.

Does NZ or Switzerland need a massive defence force?

NO! Maybe its because they aren't poking their nose where it doesn't belong.
