It is all too late for the Liberals to turn the polls around so close to the next election. The polls numbers have been consistently bad for 2 years now, there has been a clear trend that they are on the nose with voters and I don't believe a new leader is going to change that without a wholesale change in its policy agenda.
A smart potential leader candidate will lie low and wait for the next election to be over and put his (I say his because I don't see any good potential female candidates within the current Liberal rank) hand up for the leadership. To be the new leader now will destroy his own future.
That is the reality, but so often some people think they are superhuman and are tempted to go for the leadership now.
