Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has claimed losing 30 Newspolls will not be a test of his leadership, despite Tony Abbott's call for him to explain his performance.

The Federal Government has lost 28 Newspolls in a row and is currently polling 47 per cent of the vote, compared to Labor's 53 per cent.  

Mr Turnbull said the vote of his party room would be the test of his leadership, not Mr Abbott.
