Yes, I agree that these conversations would've taken place in private, and it would've been obvious to those involved that Turnbull was expecting confidentiality. In which case, I think it is wrong that these things are now being made public. Bit below the belt if you ask me.....but unfortunately, it's exactly what we'd expect from politicians from either side.
