True MI, parents don't want to "parent" these days, its all too hard and encroaches too much on their social time...
My other half has two nephews married with kids...one of the wives works 3 days a week and puts their two kids into child care the two days she has off so she can still swan around and lunch with girl friends....the other gives their kids everything, absolutely everything they want and the three they have become totally unbearable to be around...real little snots in fact.
These "couples" are just a sample of why kids today have no smarts about them when they grow up, they totally reflect the environment they grew up in...
