If it's true that KCN neglected to submit the necessary documents to clear themselves, they're either stupid, negligent or simply too arrogant to survive in Thailand. Any expatriate in Thailand knows, you don't mess about with their bureaucracy .. whatever they require, you give it to them quick smart, because if you don't, then can be incredibly obstructive.

Department suspends gold mining operation of Akara Resources for another 45 days

The Department of Primary Industries and Mines today ordered the extended closure of the Akara Resources Plc's mining activities for another 45 days after the company failed to abide by its order to submit required evidence and documents by the first deadline.
The company was mandated by the department to stop its gold mining operation for 30 days, ending yesterday, and submit evidence that it had sent 300 villagers affected by heavy metal toxicity for treatment in hospitals.
It was also required to show evidence that it had a report of Mahidol university saying that heavy metal toxicity in the bodies of villagers had nothing to do with its gold mining operation, and the annual health certificates of its employees.
Its failure to submit the three documents prompted the department to extend its closure for another 45 days.
