I agree that the original black packaging had an issue as it showed accumulated dust on top - I pointed this out to management and perhaps because of this (but probably not) you see the new boxes (of Bodyshaper at least) while maintaining their core black colour have the bright pink/orange or blue band on the top potion of the packaging.

But more importantly Black has been used by numerous high end cosmetic companies with much success. Chanel and M.A.C are two obvious examples so I think blaming any lack of market penetration on choosing one colour for our boxes over another is a little far fetched.
