Tariffs on Norwegian Salmon in 2011 after Norway nominated Liu Xiabao for the Nobel Peace Prize? Arresting Canadian businessmen after Canada banned Huawei? Banning bananas from the Philippines in 2012 after disagreements over the South China Sea? Threatening Denmark in late 2019 after Denmark refused to sign a 5G contract with Huawei? Banning Chinese tourists from visiting South Korea in 2016 after deployment of the THAAD missiles? Chinese Embassy in Prague threatening the Czech Republic with retaliation if they visited Taiwan in early 2020?
But yeah alright, this is Australia's fault and it's unique to Australia....
This is an old tactic from China, and if it keeps doing it the world is only going to diversify away from China - nobody wants to deal with a trade bully. To some extent we obviously have to given China's size, but this is only going to encourage Western economies to diversify further away from China.
