The general public are “protected” supposedly from their own stupidity by the ASX rule. Once you are a deemed a sophisticated investor (basically meaning if you earn over the minimum you can’t possibly be an idiot), broker or other investment instruments, also apparently not idiots, then caution is thrown to the wind and the “protections” are removed allowing you to professionally loose money as apparently you don’t need to protect the wealthy from themselves. But the same rules that “protect” you also restrict you in make a profit.
