Twiggy and zero carbon steel

Appearing on yesterday's Business Agenda on Sky. Twiggy was waxing lyrical how he was going to be the first in the world to produce steel using hydrogen to reduce the iron ore.

I waited for the whole interview for him to correct himself. Without carbon he won't be producing steel.

There is a massive difference between useless iron and useful steel.

You think that the importance of carbon in steel would not be lost on an iron ore producer but then again we have seen how the Flannery syndrome has spread like a virulent virus infecting all and sundry. Whither the Twig?
