I am wondering if this is being seen as a carbon farming Target.
Given the hectares involved there could be some pretty big dollars. However I am just not sure because of the arid nature of much of the country, especially the Barkly Tableland where the dollars per hectare would not be very lucrative.

If it was a genuine scheme which was interested in the amount of carbon locked up it would not be very lucrative , but there is a lot that do not pass the sniff test which are still getting signed off! Also the carbon price is going up all the time it seems , and I think it jumped with the election result
