This is a bizarre tack. Total Eren is not out actively looking for more - or replacement - partners in Carnarvon, there is no partnership bidding competition going on for their attention. They already have a joint venture MoU signed and in effect with PRL, the outcomes of which they have been diligently fleshing out in recent months with a view to finalisation next month.

If between them they build processing infrastructure that has the capacity to service other neighbouring developments, and offers easier access to coast/port, then that’s something the neighbour can (and will likely happily) pay for.
