    Comsec's commentary:

This week we saw VOC jump into the number 1 spot after it released a downgrade to its FY17 profit guidance aftermarket Tuesday. The stock fell some 27% the next trading day and a total fall on the week of ~29% with a closing price on Friday of $2.37. CommSec clients took advantage of this fall to enter the stock at these levels with 81% of contract volume being on the buy side.

Telstra continued to remain in the Top 5 most traded stocks at CommSec with buyers and sellers split this week compared to previous weeks where we had seen strong buying. This can be attributed to news out on Friday when the regulator sided with Telstra with regard to not declaring wholesale domestic roaming. Telstra saw a solid rise of 17cents that day and that drew out some profit taking from investors/traders who had bought at lower levels whilst the uncertainty of this decision weighed upon the stock. It will be interesting to see what investors look to do now with the stock and whether it will remain as actively traded as we have seen in the past 4-5 weeks.

ANZ and NAB also featured in our top traded stocks after both reported Half Year results. Even though these results were fairly much in line with market expectations both names fell heavily on solid volume as growth outlooks are subdued. Unlike previous weeks where we had seen good selling in all the Banks by CommSec clients, these falls saw buyers enter the market as they took advantage of the falls and also the opportunity to participate in the upcoming dividends of both companies.

Finally BHP rounds out the Top 5 as Iron Ore continued to swoon, coupled with Oil weakness and this saw selling pressure remain with BHP falling for a fourth week. CommSec clients saw this as an opportunity to enter into the name as the stock is now down ~$5.00 from the highs seen in late January 2017.

The above information came out yesterday.

Telstra and Santos were evenly divided.  Both had bullish ratios the previous week.

Other Buy/Sell ratios were generally bullish.
