You can see why they may feel a need to reinvent themselves and get into electric car technology including and most importantly - electric vehicles batteries.
In 2015 - Bosch purchased Seeo, Inc, a US based start-up working on solid state lithium ion batteries.
If Alex is in Europe he could be talking to Bosch - or, taking in some skiing and egg nogg with Santa.
