You got me thinking so I went and had a check.

There are a number of small down Novembers but most were part of a bigger decline.

There are two years where the preceding pattern was pretty similar to the last 6 months that then saw a late Oct/early Nov high and a sharp drop through Nov.

1948 saw about a 10% decline in Nov from this pattern.

1973 saw a 20+% drop in Nov.

1973 is interesting as that lasted into Oct 1974 and of course 1974 was probably the worst bear market we have had here.
