Renewable Energy seeks monitoring permit for potential Canadian wave power site

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Renewable Energy Holdings Plc. said it has applied for a permit to determine the suitability of a coastal region west of the Ucluth Peninsula in British Columbia, Canada, for the company's CETO wave power technology.
The renewable energy technology company said investigative and monitoring work will begin once final testing of the system, which converts sea power into electricity, is completed in South West Australia.
'We believe that the marine conditions in this area of North West Canada are extremely favourable to our CETO wave technology,' said Renewable Energy chief executive Mike Proffitt.
