The problem is not the openness that a western country offers that allow an open Muslim to behave. Peer pressure and all the social issues that make you choose to be with ‘them’ or apostasy. Unlike Christianity now allowing you to choose logic over fundamentalism, Islam does not afford any resistance to restrictive lifestyle.
In democracy we choose acceptance over law breaking but there will be sections of religious or political extreminism. These are interchanged between the hate of western open cultures and the hate of closed alien religion/cultures.
