If the lads weren't stopped and had gone on to mow down a dozen pedestrians and killed some, then the media and public would be crying out, "Why didn't the police stop them."

Given the circumstances my thoughts are that the police have prevented something much worse occurring. As it is one young lady was hurt and is 'lucky' to be alive. Oddly the media seems more concerned with the conditions of the two injured boys.

Some may question why tasers weren't used instead, my guess is that these police didn't carry them or didn't have the time to organize their use.

The boys knew they were playing with fire when they stole the car. Hopefully this experience will have taught them a lesson and prevented a life of crime and harm to other people in the community.
