In relation to LT Holders constant postive comments;
"Such posting does NOT set out to rip others off, reduce the value of portfolios, or make money out of the losses of others."
The above is the essence of ramping T4P. This group makes money off trading the positive sentiment.
These psoters are easily identified by posting constantly positve on one stock as can be seen in their posting history.
I remember poster 123enen coping grief on CVI in its hayday. His "minority" and "contrarian" view was severly attacked by the overtly positive posters of the time, many of whom lost significant sums of money.
I think some would remember that one well !!!
Overlty positive posters who constantly repeat the party line are just as "agenda" driven and damaging imo.
If a poster appears on a thread whom has a negative ST sentiment then it may be worthwhile checking the posters history. If you find evidence that said poster is prepared to comment negativly on stocks they do hold, then chances are it is a genuine opinion. The poster may be looking to cut through the noise and fluff to get to the essence of the company and therfore may stump up when the price is right. This is not downramping or agenda.
If after investigation, you find that person is less than geniune on many stocks or only posts on one, then the choice is easy, ignore.
As such this is a forum and not an official channel. The ASX, quality print media and company website should contain all the info one really needs to make an invesmtent decision.
Forums though are a great way to discuss a stock (held or otherwise) in what can be a very lonely and time intensive choice of investing.
