There is an article in AFR about this topic (not a good publicity but it is what it is).
Article mentions that the issue is limited to a specific type of device and there may not be any security angle. It probably does not make any difference if one does not trust Tyro, but this is the position from Tyro. The Australian Financial Review understands the issue is limited to a particular cohort of customers using a particular product and cannot be fixed remotely. There have been no signs of a breach and Tyro is confident its customer data is secure.
