    Isn't the solution to this, like most things to do with Aust financial services, to make the cost "disappear".

    By that I mean: if a cafe added $0.10 to the cost of a $5 coffee, wouldn't it cover financial services for Terminals and Surcharges in the same way it covers Rent and power as a COG. Given as Lara said, no merchant can be without EFTPOS because customers demand it, everyone will put their price up $0.10 even for those paying cash. Poor fella my inflation target

    Or will the RBA and Govt separate this legitimate business cost from other costs and make the merchant absorb it like maternity leave or super. Can't really see the RBA/ACCC/ATO going door to door checking the cost of a flat white?

    Genuine question. I haven't seen the RBA thinking on this but in the end you know like most things from Government it is performative not substantive.
