Share prices are usually in one of two states, compression or expansion. This is the first step in anlysing price action.
TYR is clearly in compression (or sideways or corrective) state. If you look at the 60m price chart the gray area is when volume is in a dry up stage (400,000).
The Daily chart showing the compression. The squeeze (red dots) showing how compressed prices are (High state). The other indication is inside days 2 so far (1 dec & 22 nov or narrow range inside bars). I am waiting for a break from my rectangle. So far the probabilities are higher as my moving average (18 ma - magenta) is rising.
Resistance at $1.06 & then $1.15. A simple way to watch price is to look at the 60m timeframe. I can see candles have moved higher but not breaking the upper bollinger band yet. What we say is for accumulation we need to see buyers stepping up at the lows & buying it.
The opposite was the case in Oct when sellers stepped in at the highs.
"If & when prices move higher" we should see confirmation on the daily like the MACD above the zeroline & a increase in volume (millions of shares being traded unlike the hundreds of thousands right now) & green Di (or Di+) showing expansion.
(60 min price chart - RHS Daily price chart LHS)
From a fundamental perspective for prices to rise we need earnings growth.
The other fundamental metric I like to look at is ROE. This is the return on your equity. Roger Montgomery says to think of it like interest on your bank account. So getting 3 cents in the dollar right now.
The future return on equity is about 11%. Not great but management getting better at managing capital. Hope this helps.
