If I was a large shareholder and I wanted to get the potential deal across the line I would be buying up now so that I had more votes come the offer. on the other hand if I did buy up the SP would get closer to the rumoured takeover price and perhaps smaller shareholders would not be happy with the offer.
Will be interesting what comes from this.
