According to ABS figures, in the 2021-22 we had a net gain of 170,900 people. Most of which are temporary visa holders or students in a younger demographic band who are net spenders in retail & hospitality, also with a big uptick in tourism back to Australia.
Expect that figure to hit over 200,000+ people in 2023. Factor in goods and services inflation and I've got a fairly good feeling the transaction volumes will rise in 2023 substantially..
