    Part of it is no doubt driven by the prospect of a takeover at that price, but that is more down to speculation than anything concrete as things stand.

    Not sure I follow - where is the arb. opportunity if the gap between the market price and the speculative offer at $1.85 is closing/shrinking? For the bidder, they'll usually have to offer a decent premium to a recent VWAP to get it over the line - the longer the price stays at these levels, the more $1.85 may not cut it for the acceptance by the board and shareholders.
