Latest news from drilling in Tanzania, this time from Maurel & Prom:
Tanzania – Bigwa – Rufiji – Mafia License (Maurel & Prom operator, 60%)
The Mohoro-1 well drilled in Tanzania under the Bigwa Rufija Mafia License (M&P 60%) reached a depth of 3,200 m.
The drilling encountered a column of water impregnated with hydrocarbon gas but in non-commercial quantities.
However, this result confirms the existence of an gas system in the region.
Work to commence testing the Mafia Deep ST-1 well is still underway.
This licence area is immediately to the north of the WSS and Nyuni blocks. I'm not sure how far away Mohoro-1 well is from our blocks though.
