Because of importing the fossil fuel, the Japanese utilities are losing billions of dollars. They need cash. They don't know when the reactors will restart. Many of them will never restart.
As an example, the Tokyo Electric Company dump all their UUU (Uranium One) shares on the market at almost the lowest price a few months after the incident. The TSX UUU blogger cannot explain why the UUU shares keep dropping for weeks. Finally we know.
