Ask Chernobyl residents if the radioactivity is out of date yet....pretty sure a few Russians got radiation poisoning there digging trenches....
Whats out of date is short memories and wishful thinking...
The new wave of thinking is not fixing an energy problem...it's just transferring the medium by which it's produced. And the risk scale is being adjusted.
No emmisions...and I say that loosely. radiation is emitted into the atmosphere/water...but if it goes it really goes, instead of sucking the world's radiator dry and poisoning the air.
