Pugdaddy I would agree with most of what you said but highlight this point as I think its wrong to use the 30MA in this case. The 30MA includes all 'news' days of 20/30/40mil+ and will inflate the 30MA artificially.
If you look at a normal trading day the number is closer to 6mil (a guess - haven't done any calcs) so yesterdays volume was not a 'down' day in terms of volume at all and was actually quite a keen day of exchange -> profit takers to longer term holders.
