I'm going to buy a BluGen unit too and disconnect from the grid altogether. Staying connected to the grid means you pay the service charge and get next to nothing for the power you output into the grid.

Better to set BluGen at ave daily consumption and use batteries (plus inverter) as accumulators. I'll also get couple of solar panels and an electric start backup generator. I might even sell my surplus generating capacity to my neighbour for half price!

So forget paying the power company - I'm going to compete on an unlevel playing field (tilted my way!).
