You are talking to somebody with over 40 years' experience in managing open cut mines.
While there are numerous mines around the World deeper than 300m; I can't think of one where they have stripped more than 100m of uneconomic waste just to get to the top of the orebody. The examples you cite both provided 'Ore' from the surface and are both Bulk ~ Low grade operations. MP is a low tonnage high grade deposit and as such any postulated repetitions should be similar.
Lastly, even if what you said was correct. Wouldn't it be simpler to strip the 150m of waste off the top of MP to continue open-cutting the already proven northern extension of it, rather than chasing an as yet untested, theoretically similar deposit at twice the depth?
