    Think of it like this. If the US is running a budget surplus then they're paying down debt. If in deficit the opposite. The last time I checked their deficit still exceeded $1 trillion a year, that's $1,000,000,000,000.00

    Now doesn't that number look ridiculous! Official debt now $16,840,000,000,000 and counting....
