I dont think the payment of the div can be seen as the end of the P/L. They have said subject to price gold assests will be sold off. Thats $100m (approx) jumps into bank a/c. There cashflow is very strong & should inc this year if only for the price of oil.

The rationale behind the div I think would be twofold :
i) try to entice the instos
ii) appease the PNG govt. Remember, they are a major shareholder & need funds desperately, hence div in USD.

If anything, the div probably buys more time for P/L.

This is just my opinion & could always be wrong
