Entirely agree the market is very price sensitive but new features are also very desirable to many. The addition of a highly desirable security feature in a selection of higher end models could still see a market of several % of the total available units sold.

As to hacking. This has been the very first issue raised at the very earliest stages of Intevia control system development. It is not a problem. Any system can be hacked from the corner store to the Pentagon. The issue is how robust the security features are so how much effort is expended in gaining access. Intevia control systems appear much more secure since tampering is a feature easily detected and transmitted to the controller of the system. For local systems the access is also extremely limited. People can leave a key lying around now or have electronic access codes left unsecured. New banking access and verification codes are an example of higher level security features that are easily matched by Intevia systems (and exceeded).
